Well the days, hours and minutes of 'working life' are counting down and it won't be long before we both finally hit the road, and head east.
The travelling (bar the soon to be forgotten 'commute from hell') hasn't started yet but I thought I'd get a post on this blog to make sure it's all working properly - comments welcome.
Having pretty much worked, and re-worked our way through what seems like dozens of check lists we are almost ready to go - we have even had a 'test-run' to see how much our rucksacks can hold.
It is now blatantly obvious that my idea of a few items of clothing does not match with my rucksack's and I'm going to be lucky if I can take anything at this rate - thankfullywe're heading to where most clothes are made these days...maybe i can pick up a burka?
Angela had hoped to take hair straightners, hair dryers, irons, ironing boards and kitchen sinks - but that's not happening and I'd end up carrying it all anyway. In fact it's pretty startling how little you take with you - and it starkly hit home to both of us that THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!
We have booked accommodation in Dubai, and Delhi, and will be arranging something in Kerala once we arrive in India. I'm really hoping this 'global financial collapse' we're experiencing doesn't do to the domestic Indian airlines what it's done to XL.com - otherwise we are going on a LOT of train journeys.
We will be saying goodbye to blighty in true style this weekend on a 'fancy dress pub crawl extravaganza' around Soho. I hope to have plenty of photos to stick on here and Facebook next week...until then.

Nice easy start to your trip getting to Dubai. Not to much stress and a nice clean city with lovely beaches. Bring on Delhi which is the next level. Please stay in down town Delhi like we did, even if its only for one night. Watch your six and dont make eye contact with any shop keepers ;)
You're there!! And not here!! Can't believe this time last week it was all about haircuts and now it's all about Delhi - please don't get Delhi belly.
Still hasn't really sunk in that's you're gone, but Matt can't stop crying.
If I don't get a chance before, happy bday to Chris.
Love to both, one Hale xxx
It's a bit lonely without you here, Matt uses me inappropriately.
